USB Power Cable for Game Boy Pocket and Color
This USB power cable is a small accessory I made for powering a Game Boy Pocket or Game Boy Color from a standard 5 V USB source. Inside the cable there is regulation for the lower voltage the console expects.
It is a simple project, but useful. When I am testing consoles, working with mods, or just keeping hardware powered on the bench, batteries are not always the most convenient option. A regulated USB cable makes that setup easier.
The important part is not just putting a USB connector on one end. The console was not designed for direct USB power, so the voltage regulation and basic protection matter. Retro hardware is old enough that I prefer not to feed it random power and hope for the best.
This is one of those small hardware pieces that fits naturally around the larger Game Boy projects. It does not need to be complex to be worth making; it just needs to solve a real bench problem cleanly.
